Shikoku, June 16-18

I had an awesome room. My personal bedroom is 6 tatami mats - this one was 8. (the rest was empty)
This picture was above the bathtub. I thought "ain't that pretty!" but while drowning in the depths of the tub, I realized there was something not quite right about it.

The plank leading to the washroom out back. Check out the floor in the washroom. In that washroom, the toilet is its own stall, then there is the main room with the urinal and the handwashing sink. The bath is in its own room too.

COOOOL eh? There were 20 of them. We couldn't see them when we first got there due to the clouds. There was an information booth with a video of their construction and use, next to a little cafe/plant shop. The orange sherbert was bitter/sour.
Now we go to the next day, down at Katsura-hama.

Ryoma, famous fella from Kochi (where I stayed). Apparently the statue wears shoes.

Obligatory shot...

All the penguins had armbands with their names on them. When they opened the door to feed them, one tried to escape, and it was REALLY CUTE.
The aquarium is small, but has three dolphins and a bunch of sea lions. The fish building has all sorts of rather small tanks with fish, eels, turtles, so on from all over. There was a Crocodile-turtle, it looked like something out of Power Rangers. You could also feed the sea turtles and the big fish in their open pool. I learned that kids aren't that good with chopsticks. This little boy held the chopsticks in a fist, an inch or two above the bait-fish he was feeding the turtle. Scaaary

Horse-girl statue. I bet that girl is from that popular drama on NHK.

Host mom and her big sister.
